Although it might not be possible for all of us to spend that much money, this does make it the perfect time to get yourself a piece of nostalgia since more and more sellers are coming out to sell their gaming treasures. If you\u2019re convinced, we\u2019ll show you how to get these retro video games straight from Japan with the country\u2019s biggest second-hand hobby store: Book Off!<\/p>\n

Step 1. Go to the games section<\/a> of Book Off Online website.<\/h3>\n

Since Book Off deals with items in different categories, you should go to the games section<\/a> of Book Off Online to find the retro games.<\/p>\n

Step 2. Get searching!<\/h3>\n

Once you\u2019re there, you\u2019ll see more recent games so to get to the retro games, scroll down and find \u30ec\u30c8\u30ed\u30b2\u30fc\u30e0<\/strong> (Retro Games). This portion is showing the most popular games for different retro consoles: \u30bb\u30ac\u30b5\u30bf\u30fc\u30f3<\/strong> is Sega Saturn, \u30b9\u30fc\u30d1\u30fc\u30d5\u30a1\u30df\u30b3\u30f3<\/strong> is Super Famicom \/ Super NES, \u30b2\u30fc\u30e0\u30ad\u30e5\u30fc\u30d6<\/strong> is Gamecube, and GBA<\/strong> is Game Boy Advance.<\/p>\n

To browse the full list, you can use these Japanese console names as reference and scroll back up to \u30b8\u30e3\u30f3\u30eb\u3067\u3055\u304c\u3059<\/strong> (Search by genre). Here, you must click the name of the console you want to find games for. This lists all of the consoles they have games for, including modern ones. So if you want games for retro consoles we didn\u2019t mention, you can search for its Japanese name online and find it here.<\/p>\n

You can also purchase retro consoles from Japan if you wish. The \u672c\u4f53<\/strong> category lists gaming devices they have, and the \u30b2\u30fc\u30e0\u6a5f<\/strong> tab is for consoles. You can also click on \u30b2\u30fc\u30e0\u6a5f<\/strong> under the genre list to find all consoles for sale. \u3010\u7bb1\u8aac\u306a\u3057\u3011<\/strong> in front of the console name means that the console does not come with a box or manual.<\/p>\n

Once you click on the category you want to explore, you will see a list like this. This pictured list is for Super Famicom games.<\/p>\n

Feel free to scroll around. You will see the game cover art so even if you can\u2019t read Japanese, you should be able to recognize them easily. You will also notice two prices listed: \u5b9a\u4fa1<\/strong> and \u4e2d\u53e4\u4fa1\u683c<\/strong>. \u5b9a\u4fa1<\/strong> is the regular price, but since these are retro second-hand games, the price you\u2019ll be paying is under \u4e2d\u53e4\u4fa1\u683c<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Step 3. Check out the item details.<\/h3>\n

Let\u2019s check out this Dragon Quest III game. If you\u2019re ever in doubt that you\u2019re looking at the game that you want, you can copy-and-paste the game\u2019s title from this page and search for the English title.<\/p>\n

As we\u2019ve mentioned, the price will be listed as \u4e2d\u53e4\u4fa1\u683c<\/strong>, and here, it\u2019s highlighted to make it easier to see. Step 4. Create an account with FROM JAPAN<\/a> and then copy and paste the URL of the item page into FROM JAPAN\u2019s search bar.<\/h3>\n

Once you know which games you want to get, it\u2019s time to place your order! All you need to do is copy the URL of the item from Book Off Online and paste it into FROM JAPAN<\/a>\u2019s search bar. <\/p>\n

Step 5. Hit search and complete the order form.<\/h3>\n

Clicking on the search button will take you to our price quote request form where you will have to fill in the details of your order. Below is an example of a completed form.<\/p>\n

You need to fill in the Japanese name of the item exactly as it appears on the site. Since these items are second-hand and listed as individual items, you need to put \u201c1\u201d as the quantity. You can also choose to upload images of the game cover art if you wish to do so.<\/p>\n

Lastly, you can leave us a comment if there\u2019s any extra information you wish for us to know. Don\u2019t forget to double-check all the details before sending it to us!<\/p>\n
