How to buy official Studio Ghibli merch from Donguri Sora

Step 1. Go to the Donguri Sora’s official homepage.
Once you open Donguri Sora’s homepage, there’s no mistaking that this is a place made for Studio Ghibli fans. The website is full of colors and characters that we’re sure you already recognize. If you want to get your items directly from the site, you can browse what’s here and the next few steps will guide you on how to get them. However, another easy way is to search for them through FROM JAPAN, which is just one click away.
Step 2. Get searching!
If you don’t have anything specific in mind, you can find items by looking through their collections, by either clicking on the big scrolling images on the top portion of the site or on the smaller images of their special collections towards the middle. If you click on 特集一覧へ (“To Featured Collections”), you’ll be taken to a page where you can see more of what they have.
You can search online to confirm the Japanese name of the movie. And if there’s anything confusing for you during this process, you can always contact FROM JAPAN’s Customer Service team to assist you.
Step 3. Check out the item details.
In this example, we’ll be using this beautiful Spirited Away wallet.
The product page will show you the price of the product, which automatically includes the 10% Japanese consumption tax. You can copy-and-paste the rest of the info onto Google Translate to give you an idea of the item details.
You might notice the colored icons on top of the product image. The most important one to take note of is 予約商品. This means you’re pre-ordering the item, and the item details tells you when they’re releasing the item (お届け予定). For this wallet, it’s being released in mid-November 2021.
For clothing, Donguri Sora has a handy size chart with measurements written in centimeters. Even if you can’t read Japanese, the arrows show you which portion is being measured. For example, 着丈 is measuring the length of the shirt from the collar to the hem.
Step 4. Create an account with FROM JAPAN and then copy and paste the URL of the item page into FROM JAPAN’s search bar.
Once you’ve double-checked the details of your item, it’s time to place your order! All you need to do is copy the URL of the item from Donguri Sora and paste it into FROM JAPAN’s search bar.
Step 5. Hit search and complete the order form.
Clicking on the search button will take you to our price quote request form where you will have to fill in the details of your order. Below is an example of a completed form.
You need to fill in the Japanese name of the item exactly as it appears on the site and fill in the quantity of items you want to order. If an item has different size or color options, make sure to fill these in as well because we need this information to proceed with your order. You can also choose to upload images of the item if you wish to do so.
Lastly, you can leave us a comment if there’s any extra information you wish for us to know. Don’t forget to double-check all the details before sending it to us!
Once we’ve processed your price quote request, our Shopping Team will send an invoice with the cost breakdown of the item. If you are planning to buy multiple items, you will need to request a separate price quote for each individual item.
After you have received all invoices and Charge 1 has been paid, your items will be shipped to our distribution centre. Once all your items have arrived at our warehouse, you can choose which items you would like shipped together and select your preferred shipping method. At this point you will be sent to the Charge 2 payment page. Charge 2 includes international and domestic shipping fees, as well as the fee for our Product Protection Plan.
Step 6. Wait for your Studio Ghibli merch to arrive!
