1. Nirvana “Heart Shaped Box” (1993) – GIANT by Tultex

One of the biggest standout in the KASACOLLE collection is the 1993 Nirvana “Heart Shaped Box” T‑shirt, produced on a GIANT by Tultex label,  a version that is especially prized among vintage band tee collectors. This design was released around the same time as the band’s iconic In Utero era and features bold, all‑over graphics tied to the Heart Shaped Box single.

What makes this tee so special to collectors:

– It comes from the original 1993 production era, not a modern reprint.

– It was printed under licensed merch arrangements at the height of Nirvana’s influence.

– Vintage all-over band prints, particularly from iconic groups like Nirvana, are incredibly collectible and becoming harder to find.

Because of this, the “Heart Shaped Box” tee is widely regarded as one of the cornerstone pieces in vintage rock T‑shirt collecting, a wearable piece of music history.

 

2. The Melvins “The Nun” (1994) by Frank Kozik

One of the most sought‑after pieces in the KASACOLLE collection is the 1994 Melvins “The Nun” T‑shirt designed by legendary graphic artist Frank Kozik. Frank Kozik is widely recognized as one of the most influential rock poster artists of the 1980s–1990s, credited with revitalizing alternative music art and creating iconic imagery for bands across the scene, including Melvins.

This shirt is based on Kozik’s artwork from the mid‑’90s,  a period when the Melvins were an important underground force in rock, known for their sludgy, heavy sound and cult following. Kozik’s designs from that era were often produced in limited quantities, especially for band merch and event‑specific releases, which makes surviving originals rare today.

Vintage Melvins T‑shirts from the Kozik era are particularly collectible because:

– These tees were made in very limited runs

 – Original ’90s band shirts featuring Frank Kozik’s art are rare gems today

– Kozik’s designs have become icons in both music and art circles, giving each shirt a cultural significance that goes far beyond fashion.
